Atomz is a third-party search tool that we use on many of our customer sites. The Atomz service allows visitors to quickly and easily search the entire contents of your site. These search queries provide useful information about what visitors to your site are looking for and whether or not they are finding it. Below is guide on how to view your search stats on the Atomz site.
 |
First, head to the atomz site and login using the e-mail address and password that we have assigned to your account. If you lose this information at any point please contact our support team and we will re-send your information. |
 |
Once you are logged into your account you will see a page similar to the one in the image above. To access the reports on searches to your site click either of the links titled "Reports." The image above highlights where these links are. |
 |
The image above shows an example of the page you will see when you are in the "reports" section of your account. You will be shown the searches that users attempted for the past two days. There are several terms regarding the search stats that bear explanation. The "graph" column shows the relative number of searches for this term compared to other searches. The longer the blue bar, the greater the number of searches for this term. The "count" column is the number of times this word or phrase has been searched for. The final column, "Results Count", shows the number of pages that were returned as results for the search. |
 |
There are several different ways to sort your search stats. The image above shows the six options available. First, you can view your searches from the past two days, two weeks or two months. You can also choose to view the top "phrases" or the top "words" for these three time periods. The difference? The top "phrases" shows the actual searches that users attempted. The top "words" shows the most popular words across all searches. For example, let's say on a given day your site had searches for "employment opportunities", "job" and "job opportunities." The top "phrases" view would show these searches as follows:
| Count |
Phrase |
| 1 |
employment opportunities |
| 1 |
job |
| 1 |
job opportunities |
While the top "words" view would show the results as follows:
| Count |
Word |
| 2 |
job |
| 2 |
opportunities |
| 1 |
employment |
Make sure to experiment with the different ways of viewing your stats to get the most complete picture of what your visitors are
trying to find on your site.
|
 |
If you have more than 20 searches to display, make sure to use the link near the top of the screen (highlighted in the image above) to view the next set of results. |
And that's all that's to it. The information found in these stats can be a valuable tool in deciphering what information your visitors are coming to your site for. If you receive a number of searches that return no results this is a good indicator that your site needs to be updated with additional information or services. Don't let visitors to your site leave empty handed.
