How much does a website cost?
Sorry, but there’s no set answers to this question. Every site we create is custom-built to ensure that it meets the needs of our customers and presents them as unique entities online. Because of this customization, each project costs a different amount. We’re happy to work with companies of all budgets to craft a web plan and build a website that will meet their needs and help them achieve their business goals.
What if I...?
Sorry - no set answers. But we're happy to run through a number of different feature sets and scenarios with clients to help them get as much of what they want for what they can afford. We're also able to build sites in stages to accommodate maturing businesses and budgets, while still getting a site online and generating business.

How long does it take?
Again, there's no standard answer - it all depends on what you want to do. A website development project can be done in as little as a month, if it's a basic site, or it could take four months for a site with major custom application work and extensive database integration. The development timeline for every site is just as different as sites themselves.
What kind of web projects do you do?
We can do most anything you can think of. Visit our services section for more in-depth information about what we offer to help your business stand out online.
What are your payment terms?
We require 50% of the total cost of a project before we begin work. The remaining 50% is due at project completion, before the site launches. Exceptions are made in some circumstances.
How do I transfer my domain name to your hosting service?
Check out the answer to this on our Account Transfer page.

How do I set up my email account to work with 3000K's email?
The answers you need for that are at our Email Support page.
How does 3000K work with its clients?
We strive to identify and meet the goals of our clients for their web projects. In order to do this, we generally walk with them through our Planning Your Website guide (link - 450 KB download), a document which gets us much of the information we need to plan a website and has helped many of our clients organize their thoughts about the web.
After we have the completed guide, we write a proposal which details the project, its timeline, and cost.
If the client decides to proceed with the project, the next steps in the process are governed by the timeline outlined in the proposal. At each step of this process, we work closely with the client to ensure that we create a site that will meet their needs and goals.
What does your name mean?
Our name has gone through changes over the years.
It all started with the two Erics. Both had an interest in technology and space and when they came across an encyclopedia tidbit saying that the temperature of the universe was 3000° Kelvin 1 to 4 minutes after the Big Bang, they had a name.

Do you know anyone who ...?
We probably do, yeah. We have wide networks and extensive connections with professionals in a number of fields in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. If you're interested in finding someone to provide a service to you, but you're not sure where to start, feel free to ask us and we'll point you, if we can, in the direction of someone who does good work at fair prices.
I asked you to make changes to my website and even though you said you did them, I don't see anything new. What's up?
You probably just need to refresh your browser cache. In order to speed up web browsing, browsers make local copies of some files so they don't need to be downloaded every time they are accessed.
If you're not seeing your changes, you're probably looking at a cached version of your site.
To clear your cache and see your updated site do the following:
- If you're using a PC: While holding down the Shift or Control Button (depending on what browser you're using) click on the “Refresh” or “Reload” button in your web browser's menu bar.
- If you're using a Mac: While holding the Option key, press the reload button in your browser's menu bar.
And voila - they changes should appear.

We're using MX records to route our email. Why aren't they working?
MX records are notoriously weird. They work for certain applications, but they can be hard to set up. Sometimes it even takes 3-4 tries to get an MX record working properly since it has to propagate through the domain name system, which is its own interesting process.
It's best to give an MX record change a few days to take affect. If you're not seeing anything new after that, then give us a call and we'll see what we can do.
My domain name transfer isn't working. What's up?
Most likely you just need to wait a little bit and it will work. In the meantime, read our page on domain name transfers to learn more, including why you're waiting.
